 Prof. Braam Van De Vyver from Monash University, South Africa Campus, who is doing a comparison study between the telecenters in South Africa and Sichuan Province of China, visited Thailand in order to understand and familiarize himself with the telecenter context in the country, because of the advances made by the telecenter movements in Thailand.
On 29 January 2010, Prof. Kamolrat Intratat from the Research Center for Development and Knowledge Management (CCDKM) organized a visit for Prof. Van De Vyver to Bangpreang Telecenter where he met the staff and other invited guests including students from Kasetsart University. It was a learning experience for Prof. Braam, who shared his experiences about the telecenters in South Africa, and the potentials of the mobile for developing rural communities in Africa and many developing countries where ICT infrastructure development is lagging behind. On the other hand, Bangpreang staff, appreciated his visit which they said was important for them to understand how telecenters in other continents are performing and operating.        |
