Changing Lives Through ICT
THE WOMEN MAKE THE NEWS – Thailand database is a tool to advance gender equality in the media and society by providing journalists with expert sources to feature more women in news media.
Women business owners and entrepreneurs from across Thailand joined ITU Telecom World to benefit from training sessions to use online platforms to help grow their businesses online. This half-day event on November 16, 2017 featured hands-on mentoring for 27 women entrepreneurs leading startups or small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Thailand.
Children and teachers from Baan Nongbuadang School joined the workshop supported by The National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC) to benefit from the training conducted by The Research Center of Communication and Development Knowledge Management (CCDKM) on promoting creative learning through smartphone technology and digital storytelling.
All of the winning projects demonstrated outstanding work to promote the empowerment of women and girls through information and communication technology (ICT), and a commitment to bridging the gender digital divide. The winners were selected by a committee of experts from ITU and UN Women.
